In short: this page collects every class-action decision we found against Bank Mizrahi Tefahot and Bank Igud: approved settlements, judgments, and decisions certifying a claim as a class action. According to the bank’s Q1 2025 financial statements, 16 material motions to certify class actions were pending against it and its subsidiaries (Note 10).

Three kinds of decision, three meanings

  • Approved settlement: the court approved an agreement between the bank and the applicants. It binds every member of the defined class. The bank usually does not admit wrongdoing.
  • Judgment: the court decided the dispute on its merits.
  • Certification: the court allowed the claim to proceed on behalf of a class. The claim itself is undecided, and the bank may appeal.

How to know whether you are in the class

Each decision defines a “class”: which customers, which period, which product (fee, loan, account). Read the definition on each decision’s page. In many settlements refunds are credited automatically; in others the compensation goes to the Class Action Fund rather than to customers. If you believe you were owed a refund and did not receive one, write to the bank and keep the reply.

FAQ

Does a certified class action mean the bank lost? No. Certification is a preliminary stage. A ruling on the merits comes later, unless a settlement is reached.

Can I opt out? Class members are usually given a deadline, stated in the public notice, to opt out of a settlement. The bank publishes these notices.

Where is the full text? Each decision’s page links to its source. Where there is no open link, search by case number in the Israeli courts database.
